Funding

Project funding opportunities arise from various sources throughout the year. It is worthwhile developing your project idea before grant schemes are advertised. We keep a register of people who are interested in doing landcare projects and we can contact you when suitable funding opportunities arise.

If you would like to be included on this register please complete a Funding Expressions of Interest Survey and forward to us.

In addition to managing the funding for current projects we have applied for the following:

Caring for our Country

Caring for our Country is an Australian Government initiative that seeks to achieve an environment that is healthy, better protected, well-managed and resilient, and provides essential ecosystem services in a changing climate.

Caring for our Country aims to conserve, protect and restore our unique and valuable environment by focusing on six national priority areas: National Reserve System; biodiversity and natural icons; coastal environments and critical aquatic habitats; sustainable farm practices; natural resource management in northern and remote Australia; and community skills, knowledge and engagement.

The 2010-11 Business Plan is now available and Hastings Landcare Inc will be developing an application over the next 2 months.

Restoration and Rehabilitation [Community] Program

The joint application by Hastings and Macleay Landcare groups for an Indian Myna control program has been successful. The two years of funding from the NSW Environmental Trust will commence in July. This will facilitate the commencement of an Indian Myna control program in the Macleay and the continuation of the program in the Hastings.
