Community Support Officer

Hastings Landcare Inc. employs a Community Support Officer whose role is:

• To develop a durable Landcare network.
• To co-ordinate strategic and well planned, implemented and monitored on-ground works.
• To develop, integrate and co-ordinate the activities of the Landcare and related groups in the Hastings/Camden Haven Catchment to assist their continual growth and success.
• To help build and utilise the experience of established groups and networks.
• To foster the development of new groups from interested landholders and residents.
• To promote an integrated approach to resource management and help develop initiatives relevant to sustainable natural resource practices.
• To improve community awareness of land degradation issues, increase broader community involvement, explore potential partnerships and funding opportunities and encourage rural/urban/coastal links and links between catchments and across the Northern Rivers Catchment Management Authority area.
• Help individuals and groups to access funding and labour for their projects
• Run field days and training groups.
